In 2019 the ArchiRès network celebrated its 50th anniversary!

It was following the detachment of the Architecture section of the Beaux-Arts schools in 1968 that the 20 future national higher schools of architecture (ENSA), scattered all over French territory, were created. Each one has a library and from 1969, the idea of a collaboration between documentalists is essential: the ArchiRès network, even if it does not yet bear the name, was born!

Libraries of other French-speaking institutions linked to architecture located in France or abroad soon joined the network actively.

The shared analysis, article by article, of the main architectural, town planning and landscape journals with the development of a specific common thesaurus will be the anchor of this avant-garde collaborative approach. It forms the basis of the future ArchiRès bibliographic database, devoted to journal articles and student work.
